You may be new to the sport, a seasoned expert, or just fancy testing the latest and greatest equipment from the world’s best mountain bike manufactures. The  BIG DEMO WEEKEND 2012 is your perfect opportunity.

It is the fifth year they have held THE BIG DEMO WEEKEND from the Wheelbase store in Staveley. Their mission is to bring together over 120 bikes from 12 of the world’s best mountain bike manufacturers, and give you the chance to test ride these back-to-back over the challenging terrain of the Kentmere Valley in the Lake District on guided rides from Cycle Active.

Tickets are only £6 with a Curry Supper – No Turkey though!!

Why not Join us for a gentle night ride with the odd ‘refreshment’ stop – Frankie & His Jagerbombs!! We’ll be heading out from the Eagle at 7pm on Wednesday 14th December, then up the Kentmere valley and riding lanes and bridleways. Then it’s back to the pub for hotpot & Live Music.

You’ll need good lights, and all the usual mountain bike gear… wrap up warm… it’s a tad chilly out there!

Our night rides are always popular and always a good craic!!

Highlights include over 30 local businesses open until 9pm, offering festive activities, treats and gifts. There will also be live music, lanterns lit streets, story tellers, Christmas gift stalls, wintry food and drinks, carol singers and festive craft workshops.

The festival evening ends with a lantern lit procession and winter carol before the village hall Christmas lights switch on.

As if that’s not enough…

We’ve got Santa in a Tipi at the Eagle!
That’s right, Father Christmas himself will be installed in a Tipi, he’s here from 6.00pm til 8.00pm specially to see the kids. It’s only £2.50 and they’ll get a little pressie. All the money raised goes to Cancer Research.

From 9pm – Live Music with Kenny Vickers

I know… it’s almost too much excitement for one evening, but from 9.00pm we’ve got a great evening of music and fun. We’ve got Kenny Vickers playing live – from Irish ballads, to the Eagles, Elvis and even Kings of Leon.

A night not to be missed!
